Serving on the Council for the City of La Quinta has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I love this city and am committed to making it an even more wonderful place to raise a family, to retire, or simply call home. During my first term, I helped assure the fiscal strength of La Quinta by setting aside robust reserves as well as balancing the budget every year. I worked to improve our city streets with capital drainage, landscape project and traffic signal coordination. I helped add more low- and moderate-income housing, and increased funding for our Valley homeless programs. And, I worked to improve economic development by starting Highway 111 corridor improvements with a study to improve signage and the integration of building and landscape to create a more welcoming shopping, entertainment, and dining experience.
I believe our Council has functioned well in this pandemic, leading with a continuity of service, while striving to protect the public and provide services so no one goes hungry. We have been at the forefront of fostering our small businesses with loans and rebates to help weather these tough times.
If elected to a second term, I will focus on the development of SilverRock Resort, the Highway 111 Corridor Plan implementation, the Village expansion and walkable community efforts, as well as growing our economic base beyond tourism. I’ll continue to work with the community to build a better Short-Term Rental program, ensuring the fabric of our community is not lost. And, I’ll continue to work with law enforcement and the community to improve our policing strategies for everyone’s safety.
