Building for the Future
The residents of La Quinta elected me to serve on the City Council in 2016, and it has been a great privilege and a tremendous learning experience. Interacting with the community, setting goals, building consensus, working to expand our economy, assuring the City is fiscally sound, and working on improvements to existing programs has been challenging and rewarding. It would be my honor to continue representing you, to ensure our community remains strong and to build La Quinta’s future together in a responsible, transparent manner.
I worked in public service for more than 30 years, serving most recently in the City of Los Angeles Parks Department. Throughout my career, I held positions of increasing levels of responsibility for the design and construction of major capital improvement projects, culminating in oversight of the Department’s multi-million-dollar capital improvement program.
My husband and I moved to the Coachella Valley in 2006, after we retired. We chose La Quinta for our home because we love the culture of the community. The City is beautiful, the lifestyle is active, history, art and culture are integral parts of the community. We have both been active in supporting La Quinta since we moved here. Before my election to City Council, I served as the Commissioner for both the Community Services Commission and the Planning Commission. I have also served as a Board Member for the La Quinta Historical Society, as well as a volunteer with the La Quinta Arts Foundation, the Ophelia Project Coachella Valley, and my Homeowners’ Association.
